Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods ended their relationship more than a year ago, but there is still hope for reconciliation. It became more possible after Vonn admitted that she still cares for his ex-boyfriend.
Vonn and Woods dated for more than two years before ending their highly publicized relationship in May last year. But two years after the breakup, the former Olympic skiing champion revealed that she is still in love with the golf superstar. The skier added that she has high respect for Woods.
"I still love him," Vonn admitted to Access Hollywood Live. "He is a great guy and he is a great father, and I have the utmost respect for him and I wish him the best and we are friends."
Vonn reiterated that she is still friends with Woods despite ending their relationship. She said that they decided to quit because it did not work out well for them. The Minnesota native previously said that they did not have enough time for each other because she is busy competing while Woods is busy with his own career.
Vonn's statement could be another proof that there were no third-party involved during the split. One source previously told Daily Mail that Woods cheated on Vonn, which forced the latter to break up with her boyfriend even if she still loves him and wants to be with him for the rest of her life.
The source said that Woods failed to control his "addiction" again when she slept and had a romantic night with a "faceless, nameless woman" after one golf tournament in February last year. "Tiger cheated again. But it wasn't with anyone special. He really wanted Lindsey to be the one. But he blew it again. He can't help himself," the source said.
Meanwhile, Vonn quickly clarified that she is still single and is not dating anyone, contrary to recent reports. She was seen wearing a sexy dress in Los Angeles, which prompted speculation that she will go on a date. She added, though, that she is ready to be in a relationship but gave specific qualities a guy must possess.
"They just need to be confident and charismatic," Vonn said. "That's the only requirement. Just be confident in yourself and don't be afraid to say hi. No one ever says hi to me."
