Ubisoft delivering announcement about "Watch Dogs 2" at E3

Ubisoft has now confirmed that there will be no more AR mini games featured in the upcoming Watch Dogs 2 title as they will be replaced with more side quests and secrets throughout the city.

While the AR mini games were not a significant part of the original Watch Dogs video game from Ubisoft, it did bring more content and entertainment for bored players. The first game was financially a success for the developer, but many have criticized the title for being too repetitive.

There was also an issue of the graphics downgrade which was evident if the first trailers of the game were shown side by side with the finished product. Some are already weary about Watch Dogs 2 suffering the same fate.

Watch Dogs 2 Game Director Danny Belanger confirmed that the AR games from the predecessor will not be returning as they want players to explore more of the virtual city to find secrets and unlock more side quests, Gaming Bolt has learned. The new mechanic could also be how players will find more stuff in the game as opposed to the repetitive "towers" feature in most of Ubisoft's games.

Belanger has also given details as to how the multiplayer mode for Watch Dogs 2 will work. He said that they plan to make the co-operative mode seamless for all players.

Ubisoft wants to make DedSec play a more important role for the players in the game. Belanger said that the players are part of the DedSec hacker group and so another hacker would be able to help others naturally.

The player could then accumulate more followers in Watch Dogs 2 to unlock more of the city but it is not clear as to how they will be able to function even without other friends to play with, GameRant reported. Belanger has also not confirmed whether the "Digital Trips" VR mini games from the first Watch Dogs will also be scrapped in the sequel.

Watch Dogs 2 players will have their own choice whether to go co-op to makes things easy or just go the lone wolf path. The game is expected to launch in November for the PC, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
