Echo Kellum

"Arrow" season 5 will feature Echo Kellum's character Curtis in more episodes.

According to TV Line, the actor was recently upgraded to series regular status.

Now that Curtis will still be seen in Starling City, the character will continue to work with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

Fans of the latter need not worry that Curtis will be taking Felicity's place sometime in the future.

After all, executive producer Wendy Mericle explained that Curtis and Felicity couldn't overlap their tasks because they complement each other.

"Essentially, if she's software, he's hardware. As he evolves into becoming Mr. Terrific in season 5, one of the things we're really exploring is differentiating them by having Curtis be more like Cisco on 'The Flash.' We want him to be a bit more hands-on, a little more about building physical tech," she said.

Meanwhile, fans of Kellum and his character Curtis are already anticipating what he could bring to "Arrow" next season.

On TV Line's site one fan @Wordsmith wrote, "Not if Curtis subsequently becomes a field operative for the team. They've reminded us repeatedly how he's an Olympic-level athlete and a very clever gadgeter."

Another fan @Angel B wrote, "And remember the flip he did midair when the bee was chasing him? Plus he's got the whole nerdy thing going on so no one would see it coming."

One fan @Dominique said that she enjoyed every episode that had Curtis in it.

"Ooh I like that! I really enjoy his character and the excitement he brings to his scenes," she wrote.

In other news, some fans are also speculating on the possibility of Curtis replacing Felicity when the latter turns into a villain in the upcoming episodes.

Some fans claimed that even though this could be an exciting storyline, it would be very challenging to not see Felicity work with Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his team of heroes.

"I like him. He was a bit over the top last episode so I hope that they tone it down. I don't want him replacing Felicity though," Lizzle wrote.

"Arrow" season 5 will return to The CW sometime in the next few months.
