Lady Gaga proudly announced her engagement as she showed of her heart-shaped diamond ring on Monday following her acceptance on her boyfriend Taylor Kinney's proposal on Valentine's Day.

The two met four years ago when Kinney starred on her "You and I" music video. After the engagement, the two went to Lady Gaga's family restaurant Joanne Trattoria on the upper west side of Manhattan to celebrate.

Time Herald-Record editor Barry Lewis confirmed the engagement as he was there when Lady Gaga and his fiancé broke the news of engagement to her parents. Lewis revealed that the two were not even keeping it a secret, and in fact they celebrated the big news openly in the restaurant.

Lewis said that Lady Gaga and Taylor were just hanging at the bar and Taylor looked somewhat sheepish, like any guy with his future in-laws while she is showing off the ring to everyone. He added, "They were like any other couple; she's showing off the ring and the dad is popping champagne and the groom-to-be is seeming somewhat nervous by all the excitement."

According to Lewis, Lady Gaga's family seemed very happy and excited of the engagement and the wedding that is bound to happen soon.

It summarizes an amazing week for the singer-songwriter who just recently performed at the Grammys with Tony Bennett; and on Feb. 12, she announced that she has been invited to perform this coming Sunday at the Oscars.

Gaga is undeniably happy about their engagement as she was seen on Feb. 16, Monday, but she kept her ring under wraps and cover.

In November 2013, when Lady Gaga guested on Ellen Degeneres' show, she let out a hint that Kinney is her soul mate. She referred to his partner as a "hidden weirdo" as he is extremely strange, according to her, and that the complement each other's weirdness.

On the other hand, Kinney talks about her fiancée in the same way. He said that Gaga pushes him to become a better person and that she is always by his side. He added that they believe and support each other in their careers.

In an interview at US Weekly, he mentioned that he loves what his partner is doing and that she inspires a lot of people in the industry including himself.
