‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’ updates: Latest patch includes new game mode, ‘Descent’ map support

'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' patch 1.13 includes new fracture game mode and support for 'Descent' DLC.

A new patch for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" has been released for PS4 and Xbox One consoles. The patch includes several bug fixes, game enhancements and a preparatory update for the game's latest expansion pack "Descent."

Avid players can enjoy the enhancements and bug fixes that Treyarch and Activision have implemented in its "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" patch 1.13. The patch is now available to download for PS4 and Xbox One users, PlaystationLifeStyle.net reported. The game update includes a map pack support for the game's new "Descent" DLC content. The multiplayer map update includes the addition of four areas namely Empire, Berserk, Cryogen and Rumble. The patch also incorporated support for the game's new Gorod Krovi zombie chapter.

Apart from "Descent" DLC content, patch 1.13 included enhancements to group play where gamers can invite other players to join a group through a simple Player ID search. The maximum number of group membership has also been increased to 100,000. Keyboard support for CODCaster hotkeys has also been added, as well as several bug fixes that addressed issues such as gamers occasionally getting negative awards.

Meanwhile, an interesting addition that patch 1.13 introduced to the base game would be its new fracture game mode. The said game mode allows a player to acquire core files that fallen enemies may drop and deposit these to a fracture site. Points are awarded to the team for deposited core files. The fracture game mode has even added a new challenge where teams who attain the score limit or gets the highest points after a specific timeframe will win the match.

The new fracture game mode is already available for PS4 users. However, it will be deployed to Xbox One consoles on Friday, July 15, according to the Xbox One patch notes listed on Activision's website.

In other news, Activision and Treyarch have recently unveiled a new trailer to introduce its special Gorod Krovi zombie episode for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's" latest DLC "Descent," VG24/7 reported. The clip includes interesting scenes of soldiers free-falling in the sky, a zombie-filled city, a mechanized soldier and a dragon spewing fire on abandoned buildings.

"Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" latest expansion pack "Descent" is already available on PS4. It has been set for release in August on Xbox One and PC.
