Sofia Vergara celebrated her 44th birthday with an Italian lemon-themed party in Los Angeles. The party was graced by her family and close friends.
The "Modern Family" star organized her intimate "Midsummer Night Dreams and Wishes" dinner party herself. According to the Daily Mail, Vergara said that her party was not "big or crazy" and that it was just simple because she thought she was going to be in New York.
The event featured an oyster bar, a sweets station, and a limoncello bar. The news site also noted that the Colombian-born actress had included gourmet entrees of lamb, eggplant, octopus, and ratatouille in her lemon-infused menu.
Present at the bash were Vergara's husband of eight months, Joe Manganiello, and her 23-year-old son, Manolo. Manolo, a recent graduate of Emerson College in Boston, came out in a lemon costume. The birthday girl, who showed off her curves in a sheer two-piece black lace number by Dolce & Gabbana, also tried on the costume and danced in it with her heels.
Manolo, Vergara's child with her first husband, Joe Gonzalez, also posted a video greeting for her mom on Instagram. The video shows him wishing her a happy birthday and her quickly pushing him away when he was about to reveal her age.
Vergara and her family and friends documented the night with plenty of photos on their Instagram. But aside from that, her friends and co-stars from the long-running comedy series "Modern Family" also posted their own greetings for her via their own Instagram and Twitter accounts.
For instance, Jesse Tyler Ferguson greeted his "wacky, beautiful" friend who loves cake by sharing a throwback photo of them together. Eric Stonestreet, meanwhile, joked that Vergara is as "kind, smart, and funny" as she is "lusted after" by millions of men.
The show's executive producer Danny Zuker, also did not let the day go by without jokingly greeting one of his "favorite ex-girlfriends" and apologizing for "breaking her heart."
Also among Vergara's famous social media well-wishers were her "Hot Pursuit" co-star Reese Witherspoon and her fellow "CoverGirl," Ellen DeGeneres.
Vergara has been nominated multiple times for playing Gloria Delgado Pritchett in the ABC comedy series. She has had four nominations for Golden Globe Awards, seven for Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four for Primetime Emmy Awards.
"Modern Family" will be on its eighth season, which will premiere this September.
