Production and filming activities are currently underway for the upcoming eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise. Cast member Helen Mirren has recently shared what she will be doing in "Fast 8" and even gushed over her driving skills.
The British actress will be one of the new faces that avid "Fast and Furious" fans will see in the upcoming movie "Fast 8." Details about Mirren's role in the film has been sparse, although she shared a few interesting information in an interview with Entertainment Weekly held in New York on Tuesday, July 12.
Mirren is expected to join Vin Diesel and other cast members in Atlanta to shoot her scenes for the movie. However, her part in "Fast 8" appears to be a small role given that she only has one day to film in Atlanta. The multi-awarded star even shared some of her apprehensions over her upcoming "Fast 8" filming activities.
She admitted that she was nervous about joining the movie's cast members given their years of working together in the film. Mirren even described herself as a newbie among the group and joked that she may do something to mess up filming activities. "I'll probably f--- it up, oh God," she said.
The "Red 2" star also mentioned that moviegoers will not be seeing her driving in the upcoming film. Avid fans may recall Mirren's previous interview where she shared that joining a "Fast and Furious" movie was one of her movie aspirations, as well as displaying her mad driving skills in the film. However, the actress stated that she remains hopeful that a potential driving role may be open for her in future "Fast and Furious" films.
Mirren also commented on her driving skills and teased that she may be one of the few cast members who knows how to handle a gear shift car. She even compared her driving skills against Dwayne Johnson and joked that the Rock may not even know how to drive the said car type.
In other news, Johnson recently shared an on-set photo of himself wearing a prison uniform. The former wrestling star posted the said picture on his Instagram account that showed the actor with his hands and feet chained up while inside a prison compound, MTV reported. It is still unclear if the said picture could be indicative of an undercover role for his character or whether Hobbs really did end up in prison.
Fans can discover what happens to beloved characters when "Fast 8" hits movie theaters on April 14, 2017.
