Li Yuchun aka Chris Lee attends the 'From The Land Of The Moon (Mal De Pierres)' premiere during the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals on May 15, 2016 in Cannes, France.

Global fashion company Gucci has announced Chinese pop singer and actor Chris Lee as Asia's new brand ambassador for timepieces and jewelry.

32-year-old Lee rose to fame in 2005 when she won a female-only talent competition "Super Girl" in China. She has worked as a singer, philanthropist, actress, fashion icon and now she will represent one of the most popular global fashion brands "Gucci."

Lee, whose original name is Li Yuchun, was seen at Gucci's 2017 Cruise runway show. She staged the show in a Gucci Fall Winter 2016 silk jacquard jacket in black and iridescent gold. Her outfit looked adorable with a silk blouse and black trousers filled with embroidery work all over. Last was her boot that she adored her feet with. The event was organized at the Cloisters of Westminster Abbey in June.

Numerous celebrities attended the function, including Kering chairman Francois-Henri Pinault along with actress wife Salma Hayek. Georgia May Jagger, Elle Fanning, Monaco royal Charlotte Casiraghi, A$AP Rocky and Alexa Chung were other well-known public personalities who attended the event.

After the Cruise 2017, Lee was discovered wearing creative director Alessandro Michele-designed Gucci costumes for her upcoming "Growing Wild" tour 2016. "I have been captivated by Alessandro Michele's collections since he became Creative Director, as they are so original and so joyful. I am very excited to be part of this new chapter for Gucci," the newest Gucci brand ambassador said as quoted by The Fashion Law.

L'Officiel reported that Lee has already started her campaigns for the Italian brand. In the first campaign, she showcased some popular hallmarks of Gucci, including the G-Timeless automatic timepiece collection. She also features the Icon Fine Jewelry collection.

As Lee becomes the face of Gucci, she is expected to be seen in several ad campaigns launched by the global brand. Besides the campaigns, the contract would require the Chinese star to wear some of the brand's garments in industry events, including fashion shows, inauguration ceremony of new Gucci Asian stores, other Asia-confined functions, etc.
