"Girl Meets World" season 3 is rumored to be faced with a controversy that has to do with one of its upcoming episodes.

In episode 8, Disney Channel will air the episode entitled "Girl Meets True Maya" that will mostly revolve around Sabrina Carpenter's character.

The episode will be about Maya embracing her true identity and realizing that it's time to not just follow in the footsteps of her best friend Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

Even though that subject of the episode has a positive message, some fans believe that this could pose a problem among young audiences.

Maya and Riley have been friends for as long as they could remember, and they have practically done and experienced everything with each other.

The upcoming episode could leave a dent in the two young girls' relationship. But it all depends on how the writers of the series wrote the installment.

On their official Twitter account, it was confirmed that the title for "Girls Meets True Maya" wasn't supposed to be as such.

"True Maya: We wanted People Change People to be more than a catchphrase. We wanted to show the value of good influence. Hope you enjoy it," the tweet read.

Meanwhile, it seems that there's really no issue with the episode and its main topic to begin with.

On her Twitter account, Blanchard herself confirmed that "Girl Meets World" is once again nominated for Outstanding Children's Series at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards.

The sitcom will not be nominated if the award giving body doesn't feel that it resonates with the fans.

The 2016 Emmy Awards will air on ABC on Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 airs Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
