It’s the era of talented 11-year-old girls who are China’s newest internet sensations. First, there was the legless ballerina from Jiangxi Province, and now an 11-year-old Malaysian girl who wowed judges and the audience at a reality singing contest in China.

Asiaone reported that Adinda Tasyo Mansor got all three judges of “Let’s Sing Kids” reality TV singing competition with her rendition of Lin Yu-chun’s song “Next Stop in the Future” in Mandarin. A veteran of singing competitions with a cabinet full of championship trophies, Adinda appeared in the first episode of the show’s Season 4, aired on July 2.

Since her video was posted on YouTube, it had gone viral with over 600,000 hits after two weeks. Her Mandarin is fluent because Adinda, from Taiping, Perak, is a student at the Sin Min Primary School, which uses Chinese language.

Besides the audience who gave Adinda standing ovation, the three judges turned for her. Gary Chaw, a Malaysian judge, told her, “I have goosebumps. Your performance was excellent.”

However, not all the competitions she joined resulted in championships. In the “Ceria Popstar” reality TV singing contest in 2015 in Malaysia, she placed fifth. “Let’s Sing Kids” is her first competition outside Malaysia. To prepare for the contest, Adinda started training in February with Jacob Teo, a Malaysian vocal coach, in his Kuala Lumpur singing school.

Although she has joined some Mandarin singing contests in Malaysia, Adinda shared that it is still a challenge to her. “I sometime needed him to explain the song’s meaning to me and to help me with the lyrics,” the 11-year-old said.

She and her mother arrived in Hunan on July 1 for the show’s first round. Adinda is the first Malaysian to join the reality show which is why after her well-applauded number, judge Gary Chow sang with her the Disney movie “Frozen” song “Let It Go.”

With the way she impressed the judges and the audience as well as netizens, people are now referring to Adinda as the next Shila Amzah, a Malaysian girl who won in the “Asian Wave” contest in 2012, reported Astro Awani.
