'Game Of Thrones' Mountain without his helmet looks just as scary as you imagined

Ser Gregor Clegane (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) a.k.a. The Mountain in HBO's "Game of Thrones."

"Game of Thrones" fans have been waiting to get a good look at Ser Gregor Clegane a.k.a "The Mountain" without armor ever since his resurrection in Season 5 of the blockbuster HBO series and GOT enthusiasts can now finally take a peek at what lies underneath his helmet.

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the Icelandic actor who plays the 6-foot-9-inch behemoth in the fantasy drama, has now revealed his appearance as the Zombie/Frankenstein-like monster without his armor on and he looks just as scary as you would have imagined.

The Mountain was poisoned by Prince Oberyn Martell's sword during Season 4's infamous trial by combat before he crushed Martell's head in. Left for dead, Clegane was brought back to life by Qyburn using a series of experiments that transformed him into a horrific creature, according to MTV.

Ever since his return, viewers have only been able to catch a glimpse of the monster's bloodshot red eyes and dead flesh around them as he followed Cersei around the Red Keep in his shiny armor.

In the Season 6 finale, "The Winds of Winter," fans finally saw him without his helmet, but the scene was too short and the lighting was too dim to get a clear view of his face. But if Septa Unella's screams of terror as The Mountain proceeds to rape/torture her are anything to go by, the sight must have been frightening to say the least.

Björnsson took off his costume and tweeted a behind-the-scenes photo of his deformed Zombie face in make-up and well, let's just say it is not a pretty sight for the eyes.

The Mountain and Cersei's revenge on Septa Unella was originally meant to be much darker, according to Lena Headey.

"The scene was meant to be worse, but they couldn't do it," she told Entertainment Weekly. "This is like the tame version. It's pretty bad still though. I'd take being exploded in the Sept over that any day."
