The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Edge will feature the USB Type-C port instead of the usual micro USB.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is close to being unveiled but new leaks have shown the different color options and that it could carry a USB-C port instead of the usual micro USB.

The recent reports of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 carrying a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset instead of the rumored Snapdragon 823 or even the 821 has disappointed most fans. It means that the new phablet would just be as powerful as their current Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge line.

One video from Vietnam now shows that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 possibly sporting a USB-C port in a YouTube video, Phone Arena has learned. It would make plugging and unplugging the cord easier as it is reversible unlike the micro USB standard.

In the video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it is shown that three USB-C charging cables have been used for the phablet. One USB-C cable in particular even shows the N930 model that refers to the Galaxy Note 7 product code that has been circulating the Internet.

USB-C cables are known for their faster data transfer rates and battery charging. It may also mean that the new phablet from Samsung would have some sort of faster charging technology support like Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0.

New Samsung Galaxy Note 7 leaked photos now show the possible color options and they include the basic Black, Silver Titanium, Gold and Coral Blue, Android Headlines reported. The leak seems to be accurate considering that the current Note series have a similar color scheme.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Note 7 seems to be just as powerful as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Several reports have claimed that it will only be using a Snapdragon 820 chipset but other models could also sport a Samsung Exynos 8893 chipset.

Both variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 are also expected to feature 6GB RAM which is a step-up compared to their previous phablet offerings. The display would still be a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Quad HD resolution.

Samsung is speculated to bring the Galaxy Note 7 official specs and features to light at their Galaxy Unpacked event on August 2. The leaked photos of the new phablet more or less confirms some of its specs specially the USB-C port.
