Pokemon GO Fans Converge At Sydney Opera House

Project Fixup, an online dating site launched a Pokémon GO inspired dating site called the Pokédates. The aim of the dating site is for the gamer to find a gaming partner or even partner in life while hunting some wild Pokémons.

Just launched yesterday, the "Pokémon GO" gamers can now hunt for a partner through Pokédates. Gamers just have to sign up to Pokédates' website, answer some questions about what you would like for a partner and set a schedule for Pokémon hunting. The dating site will then pair up the applicants who will be notified with a time and location where they can play Pokémon Go together.

Just like the Project Fixup, Pokédates employees manually match their applicants unlike other sites that use computer algorithms. There is no cost to sign up to the site and the user's first PokéDate is free through a promo code "POKEDATES2016." However, the next date costs $20 which is way expensive compared to other dating sites, Fortune reported.

On an interview with Forbes, Daniel Korenevsky, Project Fixup's Chief Fixup Officer said that their difference from other dating site is, they pair the applicants based on personality and similarities, instead of just meeting someone on the street while playing. "Browsing, swiping, messaging back-and-forth turns into a huge time-suck. PokéDates and Project Fixup turns online dating into offline dating," he added.

"As soon as Pokémon Go launched, we knew it was a perfect fit for our users; Pokémon Go enthusiasts and new members alike," Sarah Press, co-founder and CEO of Project Fixup said in a statement. She also said that the new dating site aims to bring singles together to experiencing the fun and while exploring the city and getting to know each other. The dating site is only available in the US and will be available to UK soon.

Meanwhile, as the game rises to popularity, a lot of mishaps happened to some people while playing the game. Some got injured while someone got detained after accidentally entering a military base while hunting.

A hospital in Staffordshire even banned the game after they found out that their accident and emergency building is in the same spot where a Pokémon Go gym is located, Mirror reported. They have posted a warning on their website that nobody can just wander around the busy building to hunt Pokémon.
