It is only 12 days away from the Aug. 2 scheduled event of South Korean tech giant Samsung when the Galaxy Note 7 would be unveiled.

Because of the leaks about the follow-up phone to the Galaxy Note 5, TechnoBuffalo noted that the Galaxy Note 7 looks much like the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, just add an S Pen and upgrade the specs. However, because of a video leak from a Chinese website, the phone possibly would not be unlocked using a fingerprint sensor.

Rather, it appears to have an iris scanner which means the new phone could be opened or unlocked by just merely looking at the phone screen. The video showed a screen popping up to inform users if they are correctly aligned for the device’s iris scanner to work. If the person holding the phone is aligned, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would unlock.

However, TechnoBuffalo cautioned because of the difficulty of authenticating the video, aside from being too short and its poor quality.

Techradar also observed a slew of leaked images which are official-looking renders of the upcoming phone shown from different angles in three colors – gold, silver and blue. For the tech website, it appears to be more like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, featuring a curved screen, metal frame, glass back, oblong home button and similar camera setup.

But another post on Weibo showed a listing for Note 7 with a 3,500mAh battery which is quite small since the Galaxy S7 Edge has a 3,600mAh battery.
