"The Walking Dead" season 7 cast members recently graced the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.

However, loyal fans of the hit AMC franchise noticed that Melissa McBride wasn't around to join in the fun.

Immediately after the event ended, some fans took to social media to share their speculations that McBride's character Carol was the one killed off by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

While speaking with Deadline, executive producer Gale Ann Hurd slammed rumors that McBride's absence at the SDCC has something to do with Negan's mysterious killing spree last season.

"The big thing really is our cast is so large right now that we couldn't bring everyone. There's a limitation at Comic-Con as to how many people can be on stage. So, we would love to have brought everyone, but we couldn't," the exec said.

Hurd also urged fans not to give every single move from the cast and crew meaning, or at least not relate them to character deaths in upcoming seasons.

"I think they read everything into the tea leaves at this point. There have been some amusing theories based on a lot of sort of speculation based on who's been in Georgia and who hasn't. And how often they've been there and all of that, which I find very amusing, especially given how large the cast is now. Not everyone is in every episode," she said.

However, one statement from Hurd made fans even more confused as to whether or not McBride could have been Negan's target from "The Walking Dad" season 6.

She said, "But the truth is, the panel is - for the most part - the people who were where we left them in the last shot of season 6, that's sort of the lineup."

Cast members who are expected to make an appearance at the panel include Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steve Yuen, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Lennie James, Morgan, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, Michael Cudlitz, Christian Serratos and Sonequa Martin-Green.

They will be joined by the executive producers from the series.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 9.
