The legal representative of the woman who accused and charged actor Lee Jin Wook with sexual assault had resigned and withdrew from the case. The lawyer, Son Soo Ho of Hyunjai law firm, announced his resignation on July 24.

The lawyer further stated that since he quit already, his law firm will in no way be part of the case any longer. However, he said that all the information that they have gathered so far will remain with them, but assured that it will be kept confidential.

As for the reason for his decision to stop representing the plaintiff, the lawyer said that he and his client do not agree with certain things anymore.

"The main reason for my withdrawal is the difference in opinion with regards on how to deal with the new facts and investigation. As a result, the conflict brought about severe damage on trust between us." Sports World quoted Lawyer Son as saying.

The lawyer went on to explain that since he started to represent the plaintiff, he trusted her and had given his all to the best interest of his client. The lawyer who will replace him is not yet known.

Lee's camp revealed that they are not aware of the fact that Lawyer Son had resigned. They said that they will be confirming the news so they can prepare to face the new lawyer as they proceed with the case. The actor's side also relayed that they are preparing to release a statement tomorrow, July 25.

Lee was accused of sexual assault by a woman who was not named. The spokesperson of the Suseo Police Station in Seoul stated that the complainant filed the case on July 14. In response, the actor and his agency firmly denied the accusations, Korea Times reported.

In the police report, the woman narrated that she was sexually assaulted after having a drink with the actor, in his apartment. The woman submitted photos of her supposed injuries as evidence to the case.

Meanwhile, Lee and the complainant recently underwent lie detector tests but the results will not be ready until the end of July. The actor was also summoned for questioning on July 17 and reportedly, it lasted for about 11 hours. Lee insisted that he is innocent and filed a counter lawsuit for defamation.
