Our team of heroes as they prepare to take out the villain, Vandal Savage, in the upcoming CW DC series, "Legends of Tomorrow." The series will air on January 16, 2016.

New details and spoilers for "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will feature Jonah Hex returning to the show and Captain Cold a member of the Legion of Doom.

It was during this year's San Diego Comic Con event that "Legends of Tomorrow" will feature a new super villain group to oppose Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his band of heroes as the Legion of Doom comes after them.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim announced that the live-action versions of the Legion of Doom will consist of four DC villains featured in both "Arrow" and "The Flash" TV series, Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), ComingSoon reported.

The Legion of Doom are a group of super villains in the DC comics who have fought the Justice League and Justice Society of America. Co-producer Greg Berlanti teased Miller's return as Captain Cold was possible as he signed on to appear in all CW Network owned DC TV series. This is similar to how Barrowman negotiated talks of also appearing in other DC TV series show and more recently Katie Cassidy as well.

Aside from the Legion of Doom, there are also three members of the "Justice Society of America" joining the cast of "Legends of Tomorrow" as Dr. Mid-Nite, Stargirl and Obsidian. Two members are already introduced in the show as Rex Tyler/Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) showed up in the season 1 finale warning the team not go to the Waverider. Nate Heywood/Citizen Steel (Nick Zano) will also be introducedi in the show.

There is also confirmation that Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech), who guest starred in "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1, will also make his return in the second season, ComicBook reported. The CW's take on Hex was much like the comics version, right down to having a background with time travel in the form of an existing relationship with Rip Hunter.

It was previously reported that Rip's team will somehow ended up in ancient Egypt as Guggenheim tweeted a photo of an Egyptian hieroglyphs illustrations featuring the Waverider. Many speculated that the team will end up meeting the firt incarnations of Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) namely, Prince Khufu and Priestess Chay-Ara.

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will air on Oct. 13 on the CW Network.
