DeMarcus Cousins has been linked with plenty of trade rumors for the past couple of years. The latest rumors suggest that he might be interested in playing with the New York Knicks in the future as he is fond of playing with Carmelo Anthony.

In an interview with The Sacramento Bee, Cousins revealed that he is a fan of Anthony for his entire life. Both are currently part of Team USA that will try to win the Gold Medal in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

"It's well-known that I have been a Melo fan my whole life so just to work with him on a daily, I think it is going to help me be a better player. I'm excited for it," Cousins said, as transcribed by Hoops Rumors.

These comments have sparked some rumors that he might be interested in playing with Anthony in New York. However, the Sacramento Kings has not officially placed Cousins at the trading block and may wait another season before parting ways with him.

The 25-year-old center is one of the best big men in the NBA today but he has not made the playoffs in his career. He has been in a whirlwind of problems with his coaches and the front office which makes a change of scenery necessary.

Cousins still has two more years on his deal before becoming a free agent and it is expected that he will not sign a new deal with the Kings. His recent remarks about the picks made by the front office in the draft indicate that both sides are ready to move on.

Nevertheless, the Kings have a new head coach in Dave Joerger and it could be Cousins last chance to prove that he is not a "coach killer." As for the Knicks, they have been unpredictable this offseason and team president Phil Jackson is ready to give Anthony and the city of New York champions again.

They may still need another superstar and that could be Cousins, who they can trade for next season. However, it would take a lot of assets to convince the Kings to part ways with the two-time All-Star. Other teams that have been linked with Cousins include the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.
