Popularity Of Nintendo's New Augmented Reality Game Pokemon Go Drives Company Stock Up

After a record breaking launch, Pokémon GO has reached its peak and is now declining. SurveyMonkey, popular survey software showed that the game's number of daily active users, searches and downloads in the United States are now dropping.

Pokémon GO is one of the most engaging games in the history of gaming. It changed the way how gamers play by having them physically out in the city in search of pocket monsters. Apple even confirmed that the game is the most downloaded games in iOS and was able to break all the records on its first week as reported by Tampa Bay Review.

But the phenomenal game has reached its peak in the US according to SurveyMonkey. On its blog, the company said that the Pokémon GO's decline has begun. They based the peak and the decline in three categories: usage, downloads and searches.

Pokémon GO users reached its peak on the 14th of July where more than 25 million active users were recorded in the US, exactly one week since it was launched. The number of active users stayed the same on the next day then started dropping on the 16th and on the 20th, only more than 21 million users are recorded.

Compared to other apps that reached its peak months after launching, Pokémon GO download peaked on its first day; July 7 with a little less than six million downloads. It dropped on its second and third day down to a little less than four million then started go up until the 12th with just a little less than its highest record then dropped again. Only around one million was recorded on July 20.

The numbers of Google searches for "Pokémon GO" is just like the number the actual usage of the app with the same peak from July 13 to 16. A spike on July 12th was the same as its download spike that day.

While Pokémon GO is declines in the US, the survey still cannot say if this is going to be the end of the game's glorious days as this is only its first month. There is still a long way to go and there is still a big chance that the game attracts more users.
