Game Freak unveils new Battle Royal mode and other features in upcoming 'Pokemon Sun and Moon.'

The "Pokémon GO" craze is in full effect, and now "Pokémon Sun and Moon" producer Junichi Masuda has teased linking the game with "Pokémon GO." Reportedly, the much rumored "Sun and Moon" is set to change the "Pokémon" franchise for the 20th anniversary. The upcoming games will bring trainers to a brand new region with new Pokémon and stakes.

In an interview with Famitsu translated by Nintendo Everything, producer Masuda and director Shigeru Ohmori spoke in depth about the imminent games ahead of the November release. One of the striking details was the likely link between "Pokémon Sun and Moon" and the current mobile game, "Pokémon GO."

According to the source, Masuda and Ohmori are considering to link the upcoming "Sun and Moon" with the smartphone app Pokémon GO that released earlier this month. However, the game producer said that "Pokémon GO" is a game about capturing Pokémon by walking around the world. With the same Pokémon species, still they have diverse appearance methods and catch speeds in "Pokémon Sun and Moon."

In case Masuda and Ohmori are focused on linking the two games, they should to it in a manner that does not break the balance of either game, which may end up killing the taste of both games. The publication added that Masuda and Ohmori should find an interesting idea that could make the two games more intriguing.

Nintendo started its campaign into the mobile gaming sphere with its social app, Miitomo, and it is still pushing with "Pokémon GO." Following the success of both apps, and "Fire Emblem" and "Animal Crossing" mobile games still ahead, the link between mobile and consoles appears like a no-brainer.

Charlie Scibetta, the senior director of Corporate Communications at Nintendo America, spoke with iDigital Times on the likelihood of connecting mobile and console games.

"You're tapping into something we are thinking about very seriously, and that's the best way that these systems can work together," Scibetta said. "More to come on that front in the future."

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" are scheduled to release on Nov. 18. Here is a sneak peek for more information on the upcoming games:
