Liverpool is reportedly withdrawing its interest on Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski after the Reds completed the signing of Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United last Friday for a transfer fee of £25 million.

The Merseyside residents had been "heavily linked" with Zielinski since the opening of the summer transfer window as the 22-year-old Polish footballer "impressed during his loan spell with Empoli last season", catching the eyes of head coach Jürgen Klopp, according to Caught Offside.

Aside from the Reds, Italian Serie A clubs AC Milan and SSC Napoli are said to be interested in submitting a bid to Bianconeri Friuliani for the young midfielder.

However, the report also noted that since Klopp and his crew had already acquired the 25-year-old Wijnaldum from the Magpies last week, the interest on the Ząbkowice Śląskie, Poland native is no longer there as the German mentor had "ultimately covered that position and is seemingly set to look at other departments in his bid to continue to strengthen his squad".

BBC Sport reported that Wijnaldum signed a five-year deal with the Reds last week and has officially become Klopp's seventh signing this summer after getting goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz, defender Joel Matip from Schalke, midfielder Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade, forward Sadio Mané from Southampton, defender Ragnar Klavan from Augsburg, and goal tender Alex Manninger off a free transfer.

Milan is said to be eyeing Zielinski as well, but their transfer moves this summer are currently on hold as the club is currently undergoing a change in ownership and management following its recent sale to a Chinese group.

I Rossoneri is also rumored to be planning to sell Colombian striker Carlos Bacca in an effort to raise funds to acquire their priority targets this summer or in the next transfer window by January.

Meanwhile, Napoli could also join the race for Zielinski as he used to be a player of head coach Maurizio Sarri when the Italian manager is still the boss in Empoli.

As for the Reds, it seems like Klopp is already satisfied with his midfield lineup especially after recently adding Wijnaldum and Mané, which means Zielinski will not get to move to England whether he decides to remain in Udinese or not.
