Google’s partner Mobvio launches the most interactive smartwatch Ticwatch 2

Mobvio, Google's mobile tech partner has launched the most interactive smartwatch. Ticwatch 2 is loaded with great features running with its own operating system called Ticwear which is Android-based.

Mobvio, a China-based company launched the smartwatch through Kickstarter and expected to hit the store shelves in US and UK this fall. Two hundred pieces of smartwatches was sold to back packers for less than $100 during the launch, as reported by The Verge.

The first Ticwatch was launched last year and is exclusively available in China. The Ticwatch 2 originally launched in China early this year. It has its own operating system which is called Ticwear OS that is Android-based but this does not make the Ticwatch and Android Wear.

Ticwatch 2 features a voiced-controlled assistant that is independent from Google's voice assistant. Its interface is similar to Android Wear which includes swiping gestures and long presses to navigate. It also has a "Tickle" touch-sensitive strip on the side of its metal frame for an easy zooming and volume control without covering the watch's display.

It has an OLED display, quick release 20mm straps, built-in speaker for taking calls, alerts and text-to-speech dictation. Its battery lasts for 24 hours and charges wirelessly through a magnetic pad. It also has a heart rate sensor, step tracking and GPS.

It is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It can display notifications, respond to messages, control the phone's music player, track physical activity and perform voice searches on both platforms. However, only Android phone users can install third-party apps to the device. Ticwatch is also compatible with Android Wear watchfaces and apps.

Ticwatch's has an OLED display that measures 1.4 inch/ 36mm with 287pp. It runs with 1.2GHz dual-core MT 2601 processor and 512M RAM + 4G ROM. It uses Bluetooth v4.1, 802.11 b/g/n WLAN and 300mAh battery. It has IP65 rate for waterproofing, as stated on Ticwear's website.

The Ticwatch 2 is available in four different designs: Onyx which has a metal link bands; Oak with leather band; Snow and Charcoal which both have silicone bands. The watch's price is expected to hit $200 to $300.
