Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays Jaime Lannister on 'Game of Thrones'

"Game of Thrones" has made actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a star as he has become widely popular as Ser Jaime Lannister, the incestuous brother of Queen Cersei and one of the greatest warriors in Westeros. The handsome Danish has earned a huge fan following and admirers of Ser Jaime Lannister are spread across the globe.

Coster-Waldau turned 46 recently on July 27, Wednesday and though it sounds difficult to believe, but it is true. Born in Rudkobing, Denmark, the actor is a fine performer and the cherry on the cake is that he is also blessed with extremely good looks. Though one wishes he was single, but he is not.

Nikolaj is married to actress and singer, Nukaaka Coster-Waldau, who has also been a former Miss Greenland. The duo has two daughters together, named Safina and Philippa. Though he has earned global fame through HBO's epic and all time favorite fantasy show, his films also give a peek into his acting prowess.

"The Other Woman" is a popular 2014 comedy where he starred opposite Cameron Diaz and played Mark King, a womanizing business executive. The role is quite a contrast to the somber and faithful Jaime, who has matured season after season, from a brash commander to a wise and empathizing human being. It would be interesting to see his character's journey in the seventh season of "Game of Thrones."

Meanwhile, one cannot help but speculate that his character is the one that may undergo a twist that George R.R. Martin has teased about. The author plans to finish "Winds of Winter" and has come up with a twist for one long-time character that will drive readers crazy, according to Entertainment Weekly. Though he has not finalized the twist, it may come up and surprise the readers when the book releases. So, it is still not clear whether itis going to be Jamie.

Well, no one knows. As of now, we are happy to watch him the way he is and look forward to seeing more of his humane side in the seventh and eight seasons.

Meanwhile, Mashable reports that one of the healthiest ways to kill time this year and wait for next season's premiere is to re-read the Song of Ice and Fire novels by Martin. In addition, people can even consider writing their own version of The Winds of Winter before it is released.
