Pokemon Go: Best way to find Gengar, Haunter, Gastly

Pokemon Go Desktop Map, Skiplagged, PokePilot, Compass for Pokemon and PokeAlert are some Pokevision alternatives that still work.

Pokemon Go has removed its own footsteps tracking system and the ability of several other tracking websites to access its API.

PokeNotify, Pokewhere, Pokevision and Poke Radar have not been working since the latest update. These services were using the same Pokemon Go API.

Some of these services had got cease-and-desist letters from the company Niantic before the API shutdown. Reports indicate that maps operating from cloud servers have been banned.

John Hanke, Niantic Labs CEO, has said that particular services that helped gamers locate Pokemon within the game may be shut down.

After launching Pokemon Go, the company is cracking down on services that players used to achieve the goal of catching them all. In the game, gamers move about the real world and attempt to catch virtual creatures that appear on their devices.

Here are some Pokevision Alternatives

Compass for Pokemon

Compass for Pokemon was developed last week. At present, it is just available for Android with no plans to make an iOS version. One Redditor said that the app is accurate and they were able to find a Growlithe with it.

PokePilot

According to one Redditor, the beta for PokePilot is one of the only iOS alternatives, since most are made for Android. People should look for the one that is a map identical to Pokevision, not identically named services that use bots or spoof.

Skiplagged

Skiplagged is a website map that shows the creature in the area. However, it just appear to work in larger cities because it is crowdsourced.

PokeAlert

PokeAlert was suggested on Reddit. However, some users say that it is not very accurate. A few users cannot get the map to work at all and other users said that the creature it shows spawning never shows up. The help page says that an increase in users has caused old spawns to appear as new and they are working on the issue.

Pokemon Go Desktop Map

Pokemon Go Desktop Map allows users to run a scanner from their PC. To use, users should click the link corresponding with their OS under Downloads. They should then install and open the app. After that, users should get their Google Maps key, paste it in, and then they should log in with a non-Pokemon Go Google account. Users said that they run it from their PC, connect through a mobile browser, and receive alerts when a creature they are interested in has spawned close by.
