Chinese gadget manufacturer Xiaomi just released a trailer for its upcoming VR headset slated for launching on Aug. 4. The said headset is patterned after Google Daydream's specifications for compatibility purposes. On the other hand, Xiaomi's mini version of the Red Pro has been reported to be launched at a still unconfirmed date.

General Manager Tang Mu already verified in a previous interview they are planning to create a VR headset compatible with Daydream's platform. The said program from Google was released last June during its I/O event.

Initially, it was rumored that Xiaomi's VR headset would be released by Aug. 1, but now that the speculated date has passed with no Xiaomi VR headset in place, Aug. 4 is being eyed as the new schedule where the tech company finally unveils the said device.

The Chinese manufacturer recently held an event last July 27 where it revealed two of its newest laptops, confirming they will be under the Mi Notebook series. Alongside this launching was also the revelation of its new smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro, Huffington Post reported.

Since the introduction of its new smartphone, it has also been reported the Chinese company is planning to release a mini version of the Red Pro which is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch OLED touch screen, a single camera with dual-tone LED flash with a processor powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 652, GSM Arena reported.

It is said in the report that three variants for the mini phone will be made available. The following models will differ in terms of processor power which starts at 3 GB RAM with 32 GB of storage, 4 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 128 GB memory.

The mini version will also sport features like a 2.5D curved glass display, a finger print scanner located at the home button and a 4,000 mAh battery capacity. It is expected more will be revealed for this device in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, readers are advised to take everything with a grain of salt as changes may still be made in the coming weeks.
