Some of the cast members of the hit KBS2 drama "Descendants of the Sun," such as Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, have reunited for a special project.
Several stars of the hit KBS2 drama have again worked together to prepare a special documentary. The said project will be included in the "Descendants of the Sun" soon-to-be-released DVD director's cut. The South Korean network has even unveiled a few photos of Joong Ki and Hye Kyo recording the documentary inside a studio on Tuesday, Aug. 2, Soompi reported.
Apart from the two Hallyu stars, cast members Kim Jin Won and actor Jin Goo has joined the documentary project. The drama's director Lee Eung Bok also participated in the DVD project, including Kim Won Suk and Kim Eun Sook, who wrote the KBS2 series' storyline.
Avid fans may recall that Joong Ki and Hye Kyo portrayed a soldier and a doctor, respectively, who met and fell in love with each other. The drama "Descendants of the Sun" aired in South Korea in the early part of the year until April. Soon after its release, the drama became a hit in various countries across Asia including China.
The series' director's cut DVD set will include a few never-before-seen scenes from the drama. The DVD set even will feature special interviews with some of the drama's cast members. Lucky fans who will buy the DVD set would also be able to enjoy some of the drama's soundtracks, as well as music videos.
The popularity of "Descendants of the Sun" in Asian countries such as Taiwan has also pushed the Korean star Joong Ki to fame. Daily View, an online Taiwanese community, has recently identified the said celebrity as its most loved Korean actor, allkpop reported.
Joong Ki landed at the top spot of Daily View's list, followed by Hallyu star and "Heirs" actor Lee Min Ho. On the other hand, "You Who Came from the Stars" male lead Kim Soo Hyun nabbed the third spot. Other Korean actors in the list include So Ji Sub, as well as Park Bo Gum, "Uncontrollably Fond" actor Kim Woo Bin and "W" star Lee Jong Suk. The singer T.O.P. also made it to the list, along with Park Hae Jin and "That Winter, The Wind Blows" star Jo In Sung.
