Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan announced on Tuesday that SmackDown Live will introduce its own women's championship. According to the latest rumors, Eva Marie might become the first female superstar to win SmackDown's women's title.
Besides Roman Reigns, the only other current superstar that gets booed out of the building is Marie. She is a heat magnet and fans really dislike her. Many members of the WWE universe hate her because they believe that she does not belong in the wresting business.
However, WWE management is really high on her because of her looks and she has made some improvements in her wrestling skills. Her character does not need improvement since he gets heat effortlessly and heels make the company money.
According to PW Mania, Marie is in line to have a big push and she will be part of major storylines moving forward. In the latest episode of SmackDown, she was supposed to face Becky Lynch in a singles match but she injured herself.
Apparently, it was all a work and she was not legitimately injured. This storyline could lead to her being booed more because she does not want to fight anyone. And with a big push coming, she may eventually make history and become the first SmackDown Live women's champion.
The blue brand currently has six female superstars on their roster but several reports are saying that veteran wrestlers Victoria and Melina may be returning. Nevertheless, Marie will be one of the favorites to win the women's title.
One of the possible matches to determine SmackDown's top woman is a Battle Royal, per Ring Talkk. It is suggested that it would be the perfect way to have the Total Divas star to win the women's championship.
Marie could start the Battle Royal by feigning an injury before being thrown through the middle ropes. She can let the women fight each other before sneaking at the last minute and eliminating someone like Lynch.
The WWE will now have a good story to tell with a cowardly, heat magnet and heel champion fighting a fan favorite like the Lass Kicker. It makes Lynch's title win later this year or next much more special. However, it should be noted that these are just rumors and WWE tends to change their plans quite often.
