Chinese manufacturers appear to have anticipated the ban on Hallyu celebrities in China with the booming sales of clothes hangers with the faces of South Korean celebrities on the hangers which are the rage in the Asian giant now.

It is not surprising that one of the most popular celebrity hangers selling in China is that of “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki who was acknowledged by a Soompi list as one of 12 Hallyus who make facial expressions an art.

These people are known for the unique expressions on the faces, ranging from a smirk similar to what Yoon Shi Yoon shows, to a teasing face Song Joong-ki often shows to Song Hye Kyo in the blockbuster series.

Soompi reported that it was Chinese retailer Taobao which is selling the celebrity hangers, priced at 39 yuan. Besides Song Joong-ki, other Hallyu stars that became hanger accessories include Bigbang, EXO, Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Jon Suk. The website also has faces of Chinese celebrities sold as hangers, according to China Christian Daily.

However, Blossom Entertainment, the agency of Song Joong-ki, is not happy with the Hallyu hangers for not securing from the company permission to use the images of its talents. In a statement, Blossom said, ““We have not signed a contract [for the production and sale of the hangers]. After close examination we will take appropriate measures.”
