Quakecon 2016 has showcased the gameplay trailers of the upcoming Quake Champions and Bethesda's new Prey title which wowed audiences and disappointed others.
Bethesda released the very first gameplay trailer for their Quake Champions title that was recently announced and teased at E3 2016. Veterans who have been playing the original Quake games will be thrilled to see that the developer is making a new and improved version with similar mechanics and possibly more multiplayer modes for a better experience with rivals and friends.
Quake Champions also showed better graphics that would entice both the mature and young adult audiences. iD Software studio director Tim Willits said during the QuakeCon presentation that Quake Champions will still be using the same weapon system from the previous games, Highdef Digest has learned.
Players will only be able to find the weapons when they spawn on certain locations and when their enemies die as they drop them. Willits also confirmed that there will be at least 12 playable characters when Quake Champions undergo its closed beta stage in 2017.
Anarki, Visor and Ranger will be returning from the previous games to be playable in Quake Champions. It could mean that Bethesda will also be bringing more new playable characters when the game finally releases or through subsequent DLC in the following months after its rollout.
Bethesda has also launched the new Prey official gameplay trailer for everyone to marvel at, PC World reported. Some fans are still confused whether it is an actual reboot of the Prey series but the developers have already confirmed earlier that the new Prey does not have to do anything regarding the previous series.
Some reports also claim that the new Prey video game title from Bethesda will have a vibe similar to the BioShock series. Prey will also be a sci-fi video game as the gameplay trailer and the cinematics have already shown.
Quake Champions does not have a release date yet but the closed beta is set for 2017. Meanwhile, Prey also does not have a solid ETA but 2017 is also the earliest that it could come.
