Chinese director Lu Chuan's latest movie is a wildlife drama titled "Born in China". The movie was released on Aug. 12, Friday, in China.
The film carries a strong message pertaining to the environment and was produced by a group of Chinese and international filmmakers for Disney's ninth nature movie.
According to the director, "Born in China" took a short period of time in shooting. At the film's premiere, Lu Chuan recalled how he became a part of this project. He said: "When Disney came to me with the idea of turning animals into real movie characters, I got surprised by this crazy idea. Personally, I'm very fond of wildlife, so I wanted to try this. But unexpectedly, I ended up spending three years on this project, " CRI English reported.
The film is a wildlife drama that revolves around the lives of endangered animals. Disney nature Company, Shanghai Media Group and a team of cinema photographers from the U.K have collaborated for the project. It was also revealed at the premiere that the film aims to highlight the natural beauty of China and its spectacular wildlife. The protagonist belongs to three animal families from China's remote wilds -- snow leopard, panda bear, golden monkey. A rare footage of endangered snow leopards also features in the film.
Lu and independent film label of Walt Disney Studios, Disney-Nature, came together for the project back in 2013, The Global Times reported.
The film is being produced by Roy Conli. The dubbing of the film is done by famous Chinese actress Zhou Xun. Zhou Xun said that she felt incredible after watching the movie.
The wildlife drama delves into the epic stories about animal families. It depicts how these animals live with love, compassion, and mutual assistance. It will also show the way the animals confront their enemies when needed.
The wildlife drama is yet another milestone for Chinese filmmakers as the film promises to bring the subject of the protection of wildlife in public scrutiny. The wild pandas and snow leopards are on the verge of extinction in China and the environment too is in danger in which they live in.
