Former Divas champion Paige is currently out of action due to issues with her neck and shoulders that kept her out of the WWE's tour of Australia and New Zealand. According to the latest rumors, Paige was re-evaluated by WWE doctors and she may be out for a longer period.
Many fans were surprised when the WWE pulled Paige out of their international tour with several reports stating that she has personal issues and was being punished. However, it was confirmed that she is suffering from lingering neck and shoulder injuries.
The 23-year-old was recently re-evaluated by WWE doctors and the result is not good, per Cageside Seats. Her shoulder injury is not severe but she might have some nerve issues on her neck that could keep her out for an extended period.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), the nerve damage is causing weakness in Paige's right arm. Her injury is being compared to the one that kept Daniel Bryan out for almost a year.
Paige has been wrestling since she was 13 years old and she is already considered a veteran despite her age. She signed a contract with the WWE in 2011 at the age of 18 and became the inaugural NXT Women's champion in 2013. She then made her main roster debut the next year and became the Divas champion on the same night.
However, it has not been a good year for the two-time Divas champion. She has been lost in the shuffle following the failure of the "Divas Revolution" and the WWE creative team has not found a great story for her. There were also several reports last week that she has some backstage heat due to issues with her personal life.
Paige was rumored to be upset being drafted to Monday Night Raw because she got separated from her real-life boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio. The 38-year-old former World Champion was drafted to SmackDown as the WWE purposely separated the couple.
Nevertheless, all wrestling fans are hoping for the speedy recovery of Paige since she has all the potential in the world to become the greatest women's wrestler in history. She is still very young and she just needs some time to recover.
