Tiago Splitter is targeting to return to full-contact practice at the start of training camp. The Brazilian forward missed the 2015-16 season and the Olympic Games after going under the knife to fix his injured hip.
Splitter, who ended up with the Atlanta Hawks after being traded by the San Antonio Spurs, is scheduled to be cleared by team physicians to start training with the team late September.
According to Chris Vivlamore of Atlanta Journal Constitution, Splitter's decision to elect for a hip surgery stems from his desire to extend his pro career. With Al Horford now playing for the Boston Celtics, it would be interesting how his playing style would mesh up with Dwight Howard.
-The Memphis Grizzlies reportedly had interest in signing Serbian playmaker Milos Teodosic in 2013 before the player eventually decided to stay in Europe and play for CSKA Moscow.
The Grizzlies reportedly put a two-year, $5 million contract on the table to bring in Europe's best playmaker. However, Teodosic reportedly desired more money and better role at that time.
In the game against the United States in Rio, Teodosic wants again prove that he's one of the finest non-NBA players in the world by almost carrying Serbia past the gold medal favorite in a close contest 94-91.
Teodosic recorded 18 points and 6 assists in that match.
