‘Suicide Squad’ movie update: Makes $465 Million USD in 62 international markets

''Suicide Squad'' which is a production of the DC Entertainment studios broke all box-office records and scooped up $465 Million USD in the international market. It made a whopping $58.7 Million USD in 62 total markets.

This much awaited movie is directed by David Ayer and has an ensemble cast. Will Smith (as Floyd Lawton / Deadshot), Jared Leto (as Joker), Margot Robbie (as Harleen Quinzel / Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (as Rick Flag), Viola Davis (as Amanda Waller) and Cara Delevingne (as June Moone / Enchantress) are the main actors of this superhero movie. The movie opened in the US on Aug. 5, 2016 and had subsequent releases worldwide.

Ben Affleck and Ezra Miller added the magic by reprising as Bruce Wayne / Batman and Barry Allen / Flash respectively. They played these characters in the newly released movie ''Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.''

According to Deadline, ''Suicide Sqaud'' is played in 62 territories on 15,600 screens. This movie is being distributed by Warner Bros, and collected $2.5Million USD in Argentina on 314 screens. In Italy, this movie collected $2.2 Million USD on 477 theatres. In some regions this movie has broken the records of other successful superhero movies like ''Deadpool,'' ''Guardians Of  The Galaxy,'' ''X-Men'' etc.

The movie is also facing fierce competition from other movies like ''Pete's Dragon,'' ''Sausage Party'' and ''The Secret Life of Pets'' all of which opened the previous week. In Mexico ''Suicide Squad'' managed to earn $19.5 Million USD and has remained at the No.1 position for two weeks.

Along with the appreciation and money flowing from all across the Globe, the movie has received criticism from the film fraternity too. According to Forbes, this is could have been a better movie. The writer of the article Scott Mendelson felt that the superheroes should not have an opera kind of feel to them.

It is claimed that Warner Bros. executives wanted to make a movie ''for the fans." It was also believed that the theatrical cut will be appreciated by the audience worldwide. The original budget of the movie was $175 million and it has already collected almost three times of that money from the international markets. The hype of the movie and the distribution was phenomenal. Even though critics might not have given a great feedback about the movie, the commercial success might inspire DC Entertainment to think about a sequel. Watch the trailer here.
