Best Buy has invited customers to celebrate its noteworthy 50th birthday on August 22, Monday by offering discounts on iPhone handsets, MacBook Pro computers, and Samsung ultra-high-definition (UHD) televisions. The retail giant is marking its silver anniversary by giving discounts on 50 products for 50 hours. Best Buy is offering deals on items including smartphones, laptops, TVs, wearables and headphones, and providing free two-day shipping for many items.
Apple will likely unveil its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones next month. Best Buy is offering some big deals for iPhone 6s series devices before Apple's September event.
The iPhone 6s starts at $1 and the iPhone 6s Plus starts at $100, with a two-year activation on Verizon Wireless or Sprint (save $200). Best Buy customers can also buy an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus with AT&T Next plan to get a $200 gift card.
Apple fans will also be pleased that Best Buy is offering MacBook Pro computers with a $150 discount. Students can save an extra $150 through Best Buy's Student Deals program, for a total price cut of $300, according to CNET.
Console gamers can celebrate the retailer's big birthday with a PlayStation 4 deal. If they buy the PS4 "Call of Duty" bundle they will receive "Destiny" and a choice of two other free games.
The 65-inch Samsung 4K UHD TV has also been slashed $400. 4K resolution is great for binge-watching and includes a horizontal resolution of 4,000 pixels.
Next, the consumer electronics chain is giving a $50 price drop to the Garmin Vivosmart HR activity tracker. This 24/7 heart rate monitor and fitness tracker includes smartphone notifications.
The retail giant is also slashing $180 from the Beat Studio wireless on-ear headphones. The high-end Bluetooth headset includes noise-canceling technology, and the battery life provides 12 hours of music listening.
Finally, shoppers who buy the Swagtron T1 self-balancing scooter also get a $50 gift card. This offer is only available at the online store.
The birthday party sale starts at 11 p.m. ET on August 18, Thursday and ends at 12:59 a.m. ET on August 21, Sunday.
