Brock Lesnar will be taking the rest of the year off following his bloody destruction of Randy Orton at the main event of SummerSlam. According to the latest rumors, the WWE is planning a really big match for Lesnar when he returns next year at the Royal Rumble.
SummerSlam ended with a lot of blood, confusion and questions regarding the legitimacy of what happened. Lesnar, who is a real-life MMA fighter, busted open his opponent the hard way and it resulted in an uneasy blood bath scene.
Many thought that Orton bladed during the beat down but his huge gash on his head means Lesnar's elbow really did it. Multiple sources have confirmed that the finish was all planned but the WWE did not expect The Viper to bleed a lot.
Nevertheless, it was a very scary scene to end the biggest pay-per-view of the summer. After Lesnar was declared as the winner, he delivered an F5 to SmackDown Live commissioner Shane McMahon, which was also planned ahead of time.
According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Lesnar for next year's Royal Rumble is a match against Shane-O-Mac. It should be noted that plans could always change but it is one of the main event matches to kick off the Road to WrestleMania 33.
In a recent interview on the Cheap Heat podcast, McMahon revealed that he has healed up from all the injuries he sustained in his Leap of Faith against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32. He was also asked if is interested in wrestling another match.
"If it's the right scenario, I'm pretty much healed up from WrestleMania, but I'll tell you what. At 46 (years old), it takes a whole lot longer to heal and get ready. But again, if everyone, if they want it, and if it's warranted, then absolutely. I can dust off my stuff again and go after it. It's a thrill," McMahon answered.
Some of the names that have been rumored to be facing Shane-O-Mac in a match at WrestleMania 33 include Kurt Angle and Triple H. If ever the son of Vince McMahon gets into the ring again, it will be a special attraction since he takes a lot of risky moves.
As for the Lesnar match, Shane cut a promo in this week's episode of SmackDown Live. He mentioned that the thing between him and The Beast is far from over.
