Roman Reigns flexes his muscles before a wrestling match.

The new WWE Universal Champion will be determined next week on Monday Night Raw in a Fatal 4-Way Match. According to the latest rumors, Roman Reigns is currently the favorite to win the WWE Universal Championship.

Finn Balor became the first-ever WWE Universal Champion at SummerSlam but he suffered a shoulder injury during the match. The Demon King relinquished the title on Monday in the latest episode of Raw. He is expected to miss four to six months

Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley made four matches with the winners earning a spot in the Fatal 4-Way Match to determine the new WWE Universal Champion. In the recap by WWE.com, Seth Rollins defeated Sami Zayn after hitting The Pedigree.

Kevin Owens introduced a new finisher maneuver to claim victory over Neville. One of the surprise superstars to qualify was Big Cass, who defeated Rusev via count out. The United States Champion abandoned the match due to the injuries he suffered at Summerslam.

Finally, Reigns was the last superstar to qualify in the Fatal 4-Way Match. He defeated Chris Jericho in the main event of Raw using the spear.

According to Cageside Seats, The Guy is the favorite to win the WWE Universal Championship next week. He is rumored to be the frontrunner but plans could always change depending on his status backstage.

Reigns was just recently suspended for violating the WWE's Wellness Policy and he had some backstage heat from the company's top officials. However, he is still booked strongly in the past month including two main event slots over the Balor vs. Rollins feud.

The three-time WWE champ's U.S. Title match was even higher than the WWE Universal Title match on the SummerSlam card. Nevertheless, these are just rumors at the moment and the WWE tends to change their plans when details get leaked online.

And as for Balor, he just had successful surgery on his torn rotator cuff. He suffered the injury after getting powerbombed into the safety barrier by Rollins. In his speech on Raw, he promised that he would get back the WWE Universal Championship.
