The hit series "W" continue to reign over other dramas in the Wednesday and Thursday timeslot.  The MBC drama that features Lee Jong Suk has remained at the top spot beating other Korean series such as "Uncontrollably Fond" and "Don't Dare to Dream."

The popularity of Lee's "W" continue to rise with the drama landing at the top spot of the viewership ratings observed on Wednesday, Aug. 24, Soompi reported. The MBC series aired its 10th episode that garnered a viewership share of 12.3 percent. On the other hand, the KBS series "Uncontrollably Fond" that stars Kim Woo Bin posted an 8 percent rating.

At the third spot is the new SBS drama titled "Don't Dare to Dream," also known as "Jealousy Incarnate." The drama's premiere episode debuted at 7.3 percent. The said series stars Jo Jung Suk whose last TV drama was the supernatural romantic comedy series "Oh My Ghostess" that aired on tvN in 2015. Apart from Jo, "It's Okay, That's Love" actress Gong Hyo Jin has also joined the series and portrays the female lead Pyo Na Ri.

Meanwhile, the MBC drama "W" has been applauded for its unique plot and suspenseful storyline. The drama features a look at two worlds where one is a webtoon universe and the other is the real world. Lee portrays the protagonist of the webtoon named Kang Chul whose family was murdered by a mysterious villain.

The actor's co-star Han Hyo Joo plays the daughter of the cartoonist who created Kang's world. She also happens to be a doctor who found herself being transported back and forth between reality and the webtoon world.

Lee's drama may have aired several weeks after Kim's "Uncontrollably Fond" made its debut in early July, however, "W" still managed to surpass the said KBS drama in the rating's race. Despite the competition between the two dramas, the two actors remain supportive of each other.

Lee and Kim have formed a close friendship over the years. In a previous press event, Lee commented that they have a "symbiotic relationship" with each other, allkpop reported. He even shared that they consider themselves as "spiritual companions" of the other. "We told each other, 'Whoever does well should buy a meal,' and support each other," the actor added, referring to their respective drama projects.

"W" airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. KST on MBC.
