Lee Jong Suk ‘W’ drama snapshots hint Kang Chul's fate in real world

Avid fans of the MBC series "W" has been worried over the drama's shocking story development surrounding the main character Kang Chul. However, latest photo stills from the drama that features a look at Lee Jong Suk filming an upcoming scene has helped to address the viewers' apprehensions.

The MBC series "W" has been gaining a lot of attention from fans given the drama's two-world story concept and compelling plot lines. Episodes 10 and 11 that aired on the week of Aug. 24 has featured a plot development that shocked many viewers. Some of the scenes involved a scary missing face, the villain gaining the upper hand and Lee's webtoon character Kang being shot.

However, the latest photo stills from the drama's filming location posted on Soompi revealed a potential scene for an upcoming episode. The behind-the-scenes photo has shown Lee wearing a white-collared top and denim pants while holding a copy of a "W" comic book. The said scene's location also appears to be the female protagonist's real world.

Loyal viewers would know how the drama revolves Kang's webtoon world and the real world. Korean actress Han Hyo Joo portrays the female lead Oh Yeon Joo, a doctor and daughter of the cartoonist who created Kang's webtoon world. She mysteriously finds herself being pulled back and forth from the real world and the webtoon universe.

The photo stills suggest that Lee's character would find himself transported to Oh's real world in an upcoming episode. Lee has also been photographed with a smile on his face while filming a scene that suggests some happier times for the characters Kang and Oh. The said snapshot has also become a source of comfort for avid viewers who were worried that something terrible will happen to Kang, as indicated in the same report.

Meanwhile, the MBC series has been enjoying the top spot in viewership ratings against other dramas on the Wednesday and Thursday timeslot. The series' episodes 10 and 11 each posted nationwide ratings of 12.2 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. The said two episodes that aired on Aug. 24 and Aug. 25 also saw a viewership share of 13.7 percent and 12.8 percent across South Korea's metropolitan area, respectively.
