'The Elder Scrolls' is a series of action role-playing open world fantasy video games primarily developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

Avid fans of "The Elder Scrolls" franchise have been clamoring for any information about the much-rumored sixth installment. Bethesda Games Studios recently responded to the many rumors surrounding "The Elder Scrolls 6."

Bethesda's vice president Pete Hines had an interview with Express UK, confirming that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a part of their plans. However, he revealed that the game would not come out any time soon.

"Just so you know, not at the next Gamescom and not the one after that; there are at least two big games from Bethesda Games Studios before we get around to Elder Scrolls 6," Hines said. "What new feature can we add, what new things can we offer without sacrificing the things that make a game like ours, cool."

As a result, fans should not expect the upcoming installment in either Gamescom 2017 or Gamescom 2018. While the vice president hinted that something big is in the works, he did not reveal the title of the new games.

During the interview, Hines as well explained how they operate at Bethesda Games as compared to other game developers. According to Hines, Bethesda focuses on creating massive worlds within its games that players can comprehensively explore.

From Hines' statement, previous speculations that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will release in 2019 are feasible. The sixth installment in "The Elder Scrolls" franchise will most probably hit gaming stores three years from now.

The assumption was based on the game developer's trend of releasing newer titles. Bethesda released "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" in 2011 and four years later, the newer title, "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" came out. Since the online game was released last year, it is rational that the sixth installment in the franchise will most likely release in 2019.

According to Hines, "The Elder Scrolls 6" release date will come as a surprise. The VP told PC Gamer that anything that Bethesda wants to do from PR-marketing point of view always has implications on the developments.

Rumors are rife that the reason behind the delay is the development of the expansion packs of Bethesda's other successful titles like the recent "Fallout 4." Stay tuned for more updates as soon as they trickle in.
