Zendaya took it to her Twitter account to talk about Fashion Police's Giuliana Rancic's comment regarding her dreadlocks as the host noted that the singer smelled of weed because of the look she went with during the 87th annual Oscars.

In the Monday edition of the show criticizing the fashion statements of celebrities, Rancic said, ''I feel like she smells smells like patchouli oil... or maybe weed."

Due to this, the 18-year-old artist noted that the anchor was ignorant and disrespectful as she pointed out in her lengthy tweet that the comments were outrageously offensive and that there is already enough discrimination against the African American community. She started her sentiment saying there is a fine line between funny and disrespectful.

She also reminded Rancic of many artists who has the same race as her and that her wearing her locks in the red carpet was to shine a positive light on her culture. She added, "To me locs are a symbol of strength and beauty, almost like a lion's mane".

Rancic was quick to apologize as she also took it to her Twitter account to talk to the singer. She noted that she was sorry for offending her but she was referring to a bohemian chic look and not the race as she would never criticize such.

According to Daily Mail Online, Zendaya was not the only target of Rancic but the whole Oscars event as there were so many things they missed such as honoring Joan Rivers in the memoriam presented.

Aside from Rancic being called out on her comments, another host of the Fashion Police, Kelly Osbourne was also dragged into the issue and she threatened that she would resign from the show if people will not stop sending mean tweets to her.

According to Just Jared, Osbourne and Zendaya are actually pretty close as they were spotted hanging out at the New York Fashion Week earlier this month and there seems to be no rift between the two. Also, Osbourne defended herself saying that she was not the one who made comments about Zendaya's hair.
