Fourteen-time MLB (Major League Baseball) All Star Alex Rodriguez, infielder for the New York Yankees has an unexpected fan. He is Hank Aaron, former 25-time All Star and Hall of Famer outfielder for the Atlanta Braves.

Aaron is doubtful Rodriguez will be able to be as productive as he was in the past. But he also shared, "I am rooting for him," according to CBS Sports.

He hopes that Rodriguez will have a fantastic year. Aaron is eager to see how Rodriguez will perform on the field during the season.

Aaron said that Rodriguez, who he considers to be a friend, will have an uphill battle. That is because the latter has not been playing for one year, and will now have to face young players who are in their prime. In July Rodriguez will turn 40 years old.

This spring training Rodriguez is returning to the Yankees after serving a one-year suspension in 2014. The MLB suspended him for breaking the league's drug agreement and his labor contract.

Aaron does not believe that steroids are the reason today's baseball players are breaking various records. He argued that they are playing their best, and are responsible for their own actions.

Rodriguez has stated that he is unsure how he can perform mentally this year without using PED (Performance Enhancing Drugs). But he thinks that he will be "fine."

The Yankees star has the chance to earn incentives worth $30 million this season, according to ESPN. That includes tying Willie Mays' fourth-place 660 career home runs. Aaron is number two on the all-time list.
