"Five Nights at Freddy's" movie adaptation is confirmed to be released by 2018, but fans are still positive that it will end up a flop.

Fans were not exactly hyped up when the news that "Five Nights at Freddy's" will have its film adaptation for a number of reasons. In the first place, the game has dying popularity since its pioneer game was released - that even its spinoff version met a lot of criticisms.

Second, video game movies are not exactly patronized nowadays. They are not even fairly received by the general public when the game does not have necessary feature to be a movie, such as having a three-act narrative, which essentially means that it has beginning, middle and ending.

In all fairness, the game has its storyline but it basically uses a first-person narrative. For those uninitiated, the game's plot is no more than a person who works in a pizza parlor and who has to fight against robots who attack the store when it closes. For others, the plot is a straight one that it seems not a plot at all.

Third, unlike other video game movies, "Five Nights at Freddy's" do not have the exposure and publicity it ought to release by now. According to fans, aside from the announcement that the game will have its movie adaptation, no subsequent updates and news are heard about it. Many fans are even waiting for the casting to be released to counter rumors that the movie adaptation is cancelled.

Nevertheless, recent reports featured Scott Cawthon, the game creator, who assured fans that the cancellation issue was nothing but an issue, and set the record straight that the movie is happening. It is said that updates were not yet available because the script and everything else is still under development.

At present, what is confirmed is that Gil Kenan will be directing the "FnF" movie, according to Cinema Blend. He will also be involved in screenplay along with Tyler Smith, while the film producers would be Seth Grahame-Smith and Roy Lee. The tentative date for the movie's release date is on June 2018.

Meanwhile, the new installment of the game "Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" is scheduled to be released on October.
