Actress Nina Dobrev accepts the Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi Award for 'Vampire Diaries' during the Teen Choice Awards 2015 at the USC Galen Center on August 16, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

Nina Dobrev has expressed her plans to drop her impending involvement as cast in the upcoming season of "The Originals" if former boyfriend Ian Somerhalder will also be included. The 27-year old actress does not want to be involved with what Somerhalder has been going through with his marriage lately.

Recent reports suggest that the marriage of the 30-year old actor with his wife, Nikki Reed, is currently on the rocks. Dobrev previously affirmed her willingness to join the cast of the "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off after showrunner Julie Plec confirmed her plans to include Katherine Pierce and Damon Salvatore's characters in both "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals."

Another speculation surrounding both series is that Paul Wesley will be making an appearance in the spin-off TV drama. Since both Somerhalder and Wesley's characters are crucial to portray the relationship between both series, the two have been reported to take on cameo roles for the next season of "The Originals." The involvement of both characters is expected to provide answers to several mysteries surrounding the series.

On the other hand, Hollywood Life noted the "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" actress will only be making her return to the TV drama at the end of the season. The reason for this is because she is currently pre-occupied with other projects after leaving the CW series.

Previously, the actress has been reported to confirm her comeback in "The Vampire Diaries" show. CW Network Boss Mark Pedowitz confirmed before they have been in talks to have the Dobrev back in the TV drama, E Online reported. In case it does not happen, Plec has still something in store for fans, the executive added.

When asked on the number of episodes where Dobrev will be making an appearance, Pedowitz said it is up to "as many as Julie thinks she needs her for," the report added. "The Vampire Diaries" will be having its last season which will begin airing this year. Meanwhile, "The Originals" continue to air on The CW network and will be on its 4th season when it resumes its run.
