WrestleMania 33 is still seven months away but the WWE seems to be planning the event well ahead of schedule. According to the latest rumors, the company already has two huge matches planned for WrestleMania 33 next year in Orlando.
In this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Triple H returned to WWE television for the first time since WrestleMania 32 to help Kevin Owens become the WWE Universal Champion. He attacked Roman Reigns and turned on Seth Rollins to give KO the win in the Fatal 4-Way Match.
It was rumored earlier this year that Triple H was supposed to face Rollins at WrestleMania 32 but the latter got injured. The plan was scrapped and Triple H ended up winning the WWE World Heavyweight championship before losing to Reigns at WrestleMania.
According to Cageside Seats, Triple H vs. Seth Rollins is one of the planned matches for WrestleMania 33. The buildup for the match started when The Game attacked The Architect. It ignited an interest in the product once again with Rollins turning face for the first time since the breakup of The Shield.
Several reports indicate that Rollins will be challenging Owens for the WWE Universal Title at "Clash of Champions" and it is expected that Triple H is going to be involved. A feud between the Rollins and the new authority is very interesting despite being a rehashed story.
On the other hand, KO is rumored to have a very long reign as WWE Universal Champion. According to The Inquisitr, the WWE could very well let Owens have the title until WrestleMania 33 when Finn Balor is ready.
An Owens vs. Balor match at WrestleMania is going to be big because The Demon is coming from an injury and he is looking to regain the title he never lost. The two great friends off camera already teased a future match on social media.
It should be noted that these are all just rumors at the moment and plans tend to change a lot. There are also a lot of factors that can alter these plans including injuries and ratings. If the WWE feels that Owens does not draw as a champion, they can go another direction.
Nevertheless, it is a great time to be a wrestling fan right now since the WWE has hit the right spots in their stories. Both Raw and SmackDown Live are turning into great and entertaining shows once again. Check out the video below to see the moment Owens became the WWE Universal Champion.
