Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) 2016 started a few days ago and the consumer electronics show is scheduled to end on September 7, Wednesday. The annual trade show is huge this year and includes several tech giants including Sony, Samsung, Lenovo, LG, ASUS, and Huawei. They are showing their newest gadgets and innovative tech that the companies have been waiting to unveil at the Berlin event first held in 1924.
Sony revealed various flagship smartphones for its X series. That includes the 5.2-inch Xperia XZ and the smaller 4.6-inch Xperia X Compact. Both are premium phones and include some major camera upgrades.
The Japanese company also showed off other devices and gadgets. That includes a lavish $2999 MDR-Z1R headphone with excellent noise-cancelling tech, and high-end Signature Series NW-WM1Z gold-plated Walkman.
Meanwhile, Samsung is unveiling its Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic line of smartwatches. Frontier has a slightly heavy appearance while Classic has a softer look. Samsung might also unveil Galaxy Tab S3.
Lenovo introduced its Yoga Book at IFA. This device includes a dual touch surface including one that also functions as a touch keyboard, or for writing notes and drawing pictures, according to The Tech Portal.
The Yoga Book with Android is about $500 and with Windows 10 is $550.
Next, LG is set to launch its V20 flagship smartphones on September 6, Tuesday in San Francisco. That made the Flex 3 one of the most popular mobile devices at IFA 2016.
The new phone will include a modular design, 5.5-inch 1440-pixel x 2560-pixel screen, and 16-megapixel camera. LG's new handset will also get a Snapdragon 820 chip with 4GB of RAM.
LG Instaview Signature Fridges were also introduced at IFA Berlin. When users touch the refrigerator's surface it becomes see-through so they can check if their leftover slice of pizza is still there. The South Korean conglomerate is teaming up with Microsoft to build a prototype fridge with a large Windows 10 tablet on one door.
LG is also showcasing Bluetooth speakers. In addition, it will demo High Dynamic Range (HDR) tech that reaches up to 120 frames per second, and announce 21:9 curved gaming displays.
Finally, ASUS is also introducing products at the Berlin trade show. That includes the ASUS ZenWatch 3 that features a round face, three buttons, and Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, according to Android Central. The Taiwanese tech giant also unveiled its 9.7-inch ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 tablet.
