South Korean actress Kim So-Hyun revealed her family had no issues with her kissing scenes with 2PM's Taecyeon in tvN's "Let's Fight Ghost." In the 16-episode drama, the two portrayed Kim Hyun-Ji and Park Bong-Pal, respectively.
In an interview with local news outlet Star News, as cited by The Kpop Herald, the 17-year-old actress admitted that she was astounded that her family members loved the kiss scenes in the drama. Kim revealed that she was totally uninformed that there would be such a variety of kissing scene with the 2PM member.
"My family felt a little aversion to the kiss scene, which surprised me," Kim revealed. "My aunt called me and said Kim So-Hyun made a good pair with Park Bong Pal. My grandmother loved the kiss scene as well."
2PM's Taecyeon and Kim's kiss scenes in the drama have been gathering a lot of interest. Many netizens expressed their thoughts on the scene and stated that it was a bit inappropriate considering the latter's age.
"I am sensible enough to tell the difference between acting and reality," said Kim, when asked about the public concern over the kiss scenes. "I think it is a rite of passage for any child actors or actresses."
Although romantic developments are expected for any TV show, Kim admitted that she had a hard time acting certain romantic scenes, as she had never been in a relationship. She then revealed that she felt the need to date in the wake of filming romantic scenes for "Let's Fight Ghost."
Helmed by Park Joon-Hwa, "Let's Fight Ghost" revolves around the peculiar romance between a meandering ghost, Kim Hyun Ji and an exorcist, Park Bong Pal. The two team up to help various ghosts to rest peacefully. During the process, they develop romantic feelings towards each other.
Its final episode aired on Aug. 30 with a national viewership rating of 5.3 percent. Other stars include Kwon Yol, Kim Sang-Ho, David Lee, Lee Do-Yeon, Baek Seo-E, Kang Ki-Young, Yoon SeoHyun and Jung Ji-Soon.
To celebrate the success of the 16-episode show, the cast and crew of the horror drama will head to Jeju Island in September, Soompi reported. The specific date has not been set yet.
