The cast of How to Get Away With Murder at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in July 2014.

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will continue to feature Charlie Weber's character Frank Delfino, but it's possible that the latter would be killed off in the finale.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Pete Nowalk was asked to comment on Weber's fate in the hit ABC series. "Frank was in the wind the last time we saw him and we're going to see where he went in the first episode," he said.

However, Nowalk also dropped the bomb that Frank will still be part of the show, at least for now.

Meanwhile, Frank's relationship with Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) will continue to be put to the test. After all, Annalise found out in season 2 that Frank was the one responsible for killing the baby in her womb several years ago. Frank and Annalise's ongoing feud will also put Bonnie (Liza Weil) in a very tight spot.

"Frank is her brother in arms, they are thick as thieves. She's in a predicament of whose side does she take: Annalise or Frank?" Nowalk said.

In other news, "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will also reveal the identity of the person who killed Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin) in the season 2 finale.

During that time, Wes (Alfred Enoch) decided to meet up with his father so he could introduce himself. However, the minute he told him that he was his son, Wallace was shot in front of Wes.

Season 2 will see Annalise's alleged favorite student finding out the truth about Wallace's killer. There are also some ongoing rumors that Wallace isn't really Wes' father.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly during a separate interview, Nowalk said that they only decided to kill off Wallace at the last minute.

"The Wallace thing, he got shot, it just came at the last-minute type of thing. I think it just sets me up for the next season in a really good way. I already have many theories about what happened. It was a really good question mark. I loved that it was a very emotional moment. You think Wes was going to meet his father, and it's now too late," Nowalk said.

"How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. ET.
