Roman Reigns comes face to face with WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens in this week's episode of Raw.

Roman Reigns will face WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens next week on Raw for the opportunity to be added to the main event of Clash of Champions. According to the latest rumors, Reigns is going to win the match and the main event of Raw's first brand-exclusive event will be a Triple Threat Match.

Despite being recently suspended, losing clean in high-profile matches and getting demoted to the midcard, Reigns continue to dominate Raw. He closed the show once again this week as general manager Mick Foley set up the aforementioned match.

Several reports last week stated that Reigns will be battling Rusev once again for the United States championship. However, the current U.S. champion is on his honeymoon with his lovely wife, Lana.

According to Cageside Seats, the newlywed's honeymoon is going to be for a month which means they are off television until Clash of Champions. It should be noted that nothing has been confirmed at the moment but Rusev just updated his fans on Twitter.

Nevertheless, the WWE is trying to bring in Reigns to the WWE Universal title mix that is already stacked with Owens and a babyface Seth Rollins. The Guy still getting chances at the main event means top officials want him there.

But Reigns still gets booed out of the building and he has failed to get totally cheered against an anti-American character. If he ends up defeating Owens next week, fans are not going to be pleased since the new champion will look week.

According to Forbes, it is not the right time to throw in Reigns to the main event picture. The report noted that the three-time WWE champion should resume his feud with Rusev. It is also mentioned that Triple H could become a factor in the Reigns story since they have an unfinished business.

Raw's main event is getting crowded with many subplots already brewing with Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley showing cracks in their partnership. Triple H has not explained his actions and now has two adversaries in Reigns and Rollins.

Also, Owens and Jericho are destined to face each other once the dust settles in all of the things happening on Raw. WWE Clash of Champions will be on the September 25 at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
