The popularity of Park Bo Gum's drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" continues to soar with viewership ratings surpassing the 20 percent mark. KBS is set to air a special broadcast to commemorate the historical drama's recent ratings achievement.
KBS announced on Sept. 13, Tuesday, that it will air a "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" special on Sept. 16, Friday, at 11:40 a.m. KST, Soompi reported. The drama, also known as "Love in the Moonlight," has been enjoying strong ratings with its seventh episode achieving a viewership share of 20.4 percent.
The upcoming "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" special will feature a condensed version of the series' episodes 1 to 8. Avid Korean drama lovers will have the chance to revisit memorable scenes between Park and Kim Yoo Jung's characters.
The first part of the drama special will focus on the first four episodes of the series, while the second part will show memorable scenes from episodes 5 to 8. The KBS special broadcast will also contain behind-the-scenes clips, as well as a few blooper videos.
KBS decided to air a "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" special as a way to return the love that avid fans have displayed for the series. The network also indicated that the historical drama's recent rating's accomplishment marked the first time in several years that a Monday-Tuesday KBS series has surpassed the 20 percent level.
Apart from the special broadcast, KBS shared that the first eight episodes of Park's drama will be aired back-to-back through the KBS Drama cable channel. The drama's said marathon broadcast will be released on Sept. 18, Sunday at 10 a.m. KST.
Meanwhile, the seventh episode that aired on Sept. 12 recorded the highest rating for the KBS series, All Kpop reported. Viewership ratings for the said episode posted an increase of 1.6 percentage points to 20.4 percent. The said episode also featured a romantic kiss scene between Park and Kim's characters.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS.
