Jeremy Lin latest rumors: Sports Illustrated snub challenges Linsanity 2.0 era in Brooklyn

Jeremy Lin was left out of the Sports Illustrated Top NBA players list, more reason for him to strive this coming season with the Brooklyn Nets

Jeremy Lin is looking forward to the challenges for next season and he may have just gotten another dish to push him to work harder. This had to do with the latest rankings from Sports Illustrated on the top 100 NBA players.

Lin is undoubtedly popular and has proven to be one of the best reserve guards in the game thus far. He showed a lot of that last year with the Charlotte Hornets, a vital cog to the team’s success of making it to the NBA playoffs, Fox Sports reported.

Somehow, the impact he made was not enough to gain the nod of Sports Illustrated. They released a partial list of players already but already spilled which players were left out. The list included Derrick Rose, Joe Johnson, and Jeremy Lin, Sports Illustrated reported.

Despite his efforts, the fact that Lin may have played more as a backup could be a reason though such may be shallow in the eyes of basketball fans. Off the bench, Lin has proven himself to be a good contributor. Can he garner the same success as a starter?

As most know by now, Lin is expected to be the new starting guard for the Brooklyn Nets. He takes over from Jarrett Jack, a new challenge that will test if Lin can rise to the occasion.

Under the tutelage of Kenny Atkinson, Lin will be looked upon not just to score and create situations for his teammates but to lead the team as well. While it seems a pretty tall order, Lin is ready to embrace the challenge.

Seeing Lin as one of the premier guards in the NBA is something that many will be looking forward to next season. But will it be enough to catapult the Nets to the playoffs?

The skepticism is understandable with Lin taking on something new. The Nets are not among the favorites to make it to the next round though Atkinson and Lin can still pull off surprises.

If Lin proves he is fit to be a starter then he may just make the SI list next time out. It may not be important for Lin right now but all that is a new chip he has on his shoulder.

For now, check out some of the top plays Jeremy Lin has had in his NBA career.
